Following the example of Jesus Christ, the First Baptist Church endeavors to walk together in faith, seeking to minister to the needs of all people by sharing the gospel of Christ through love and action.
Missions are an important part of the ministry of First Baptist! Members are encouraged to pray for as well as give of their time and finances to engage in missions!
As mentioned under “Children’s Ministry”, there are mission education activities, coupled with Children’s Choir, scheduled for grades 1-5 each Wednesday evening following our Fellowship Dinner.
There are two (2) mission groups for women that meet on the third Monday evening of each month. The “Night Current Mission” Group is a mission study group, while the “Roundtable” group is focused more on mission action.
Currently there are several on-going mission ministries: Farmville Benevolent Ministries, Meals on Wheels (Council on Aging), Farmville Soup Kitchen (2nd Thursday/month), and “Backpack Pals.”
The Mission Development Council, that oversees all mission efforts of the church, is presently enlisting people to service on five (5) ministry teams: Disaster Relief/Recovery; Student Educational / Physical Needs; Errand Buddies; Adopt-a-Grandparent.
